Methyltin Mercaptide
PVC Stabilizer for Demanding Applications
Dimethyltin bis-ethylhexylthioglycolate is an organotin compound, also known as methyltin mercaptide or DMTEHTG. It is a colorless, transparent, low-odor liquid that can be used as an additive in plastics.
Methyltin mercaptide is characterized by its high heat stability, particularly good early coloring and is used as a heat stabilizer for hard and soft PVC. It stabilizes rigid polyvinyl chloride polymers and vinyl copolymers, which can be used in food packaging.
Methyltin mercaptide stabilizers are a good choice for blow molding formulations, as well as for vinyls that are rigid and clear when contact with food cannot be ruled out and when a reduced stabilizer smell is desired during processing or in the final product.
