Dimethyltin Oleate
Catalyst for Esterification and (Deep) Curing
Dimethyltin oleate (DMTOL) is an organotin liquid with an oily odor and yellowish color. It is soluble in most organic solvents. Dimethyltin oleate is used as a catalyst in a number of esterification reactions and in curing processes.
DMTOL is thus employed as a catalyst for rigid and polyurethane foams, for flexible hybrid urethane foams and in the production of microcellular elastomers (with emission values (VOC) that are significantly reduced).
Catalysis for curing in coating processes in electroplating, as well as the deep curing of silicone elastomers, in which dimethyltin oleate is part of a very advantageous solution with a particularly fast curing rate are other areas of application.
In addition, the compound can be used as a heat stabilizer for PVC.
